DX INFORMATION     & SPECIAL EVENT STATIONS

3X - Georg DK7LX, Wolf DL4WK, Sigi DL7DF, Frank DL7UFR, Jan SP3CYY and Leszek SP3DOI will be active as 3XY1D from Guinea between 18 October and 1 November. They will operate CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV on 160-6 metres with several stations, one of them dedicated exclusively to the digital modes.

5Z - Sigi, DL7DF, will be on holiday with his XYL Sabine in Kenya between November 20th and December 3rd. He plans to be active as 5Z4HW and operate on all bands, 160-10 meters using CW, SBB, RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV as often as possible. The location is the Diani Beach at the coast- line of Kenyanear Mombasa.

6V - Seb, F8IJV, will once again be active as 6V7Q from Le Calao resort in Senegal between October 22nd and November 11th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters, operating mainly on SSB, possibly some Digital and CW too. He plans to take an Acom 1011 amplifier with him this time. Seb will also be active during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 29-30th).

7P8 - Arnold, WB6OJB, will once again be active as 7P8JK from here between September 15-22nd. Activity last time was on the HF bands, 40-10 meters using mostly SSB with some CW.

7Q -  Ely, IN3VZE, will once again be active as 7Q7CE from the southwest shore of Lake Malawi in Resort Club Makokola and from the shack of his friend Harry, 7Q7HB, between September 16th and October 3rd. Activity will be holiday style on 80-10 meters using SSB and RTTY.

9N - A large multi-national team of operators from the Mediterraneo DX Club will be active as 9N0MD from Nepal on 13-21 November. They will operate SSB, CW and RTTY on 160-10 metres, with 3-4 stations and a focus on the low bands and RTTY.

A5 -  Operators Andy/UA3AB (A52AB), Ralph/K0IR (A52IR), Paul/W8AEF (A52PP), Pat/W0BM (A52PC) and Glenn/W0GJ (A51B), along with their wives, will be in Bhutan between October 25th and November 1st.

CN - Marko, S55EI, will be active as CN2EI between September 3-20th. Activity will be on mostly on 40/6/2 meters using SSB and PSK31.

D2 - Craig, MM0SSG has been active as D2SG from Luanda, Angola since 1 September, and will remain there for the next six months. He will be QRV on 80-10 metres CW, SSB and PSK31

TL -  Rudi, DK7PE, will be active as TL0CW from Bangui, CAR, on a "one-man DXpedition" between October 26th and November 3rd.

SU - Gab, HA3JB will be active again as SU/HA3JB from Egypt between September and late November. He plans to operate CW  RTTY,  PSK31, SSTV and some SSB, and to take part in the CQ WW  DX CW Contest.

UA_ant - Alex Turkeev, RD1AV (ex RV1ZC) is heading to Antarctica and will be active as RI1ANC from Vostok station throughout 2011. He will operate CW, SSB and digital modes on all bands, 160 and 80 metres included. In mid-December he might operate for a few days as RI1ANC/A from Molodezhnaya station.

VE - Look for CJ3A to be active during the entire month of October 2011. Activity is to celebrate the Centennial of Parks in Canada (1911-2011). Operations will be on all HF bands.

YN - Mike, AJ9C, will be active from here between November 24th and December 5th. Callsign will be announced later. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. He also plans to be in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via LoTW. Also, look for him to be in the ARRL 160m Contest.

DX IOTA INFORMATION

4W - VK8NSB, VK8FNCY, 9M6DXX, 9M6XRO and MW0JRX will be active from Atauro Island (OC-232), Timor-Leste on 16-26 September. Activity will be on 10-160 metres CW, SSB and RTTY, with three stations, two using full licensed power linear amplifiers, and a third running 100 watts. Antennas will mainly be quarter-wave verticals and vertical dipoles, all located within a few metres of the ocean.

4X - DX Group (4X1VF, 4X4DZ, 4X6HP, 4Z4KX, 4Z5FI and 4Z5LA) will be active as 4X5A from Akhziv Island (AS-100) from about 7 UTC on 21 October until about 12 UTC on the 22nd. They will operate CW and SSB on 40-10 metres  with two stations and verticals.

5B4 - Alan, 5B4AHJ, will celebrate his 50th anniversary as a licensed radio amateur on October 25th. To celebrate, Alan will be active as 5B50J between October 25th, for one year until October 25th, 2011. Activity will be on CW and SSB.

5R - Eric, F6ICX, will once again be active as 5R8IC from Saint Marie Island (AF-090) between November 15th and December 17th. Activity will be holiday style operating CW, RTTY, and PSK63, and using 100 watts into various GPs or Inverted-Ls and a Hexbeam for 20-10 meters. There will be no online log during his activity.

8Q - Cesare, I0WDX, will be active as 8Q7CC from Furanafushi Island (AS-013), North Male Atoll, Maldives, between November 2-12th. He informs OPDX that he will be active on 20-6 meters, including the WARC bands, using an Icom IC-7000 into a Cushcraft R6000 vertical antenna. For 40 meters he will try to use an inverted V if he has enough space on his water bungalow.

8Q -  Oku, JK1KSB, will once again be active as 8Q7SO from Mirihi Island (AS-013) between October 28th and November 4th. Activity will be holiday style on 80-10 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31

BV100 -  Members of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Centenary Foundation continue to activate special event station BV100 between now and December 31st, 2011. Activity is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of China

CN - Ampelio IS0AGY (5C2B), Alfredo IK7JWX (5C2J), Leo I8LWL (5C2L),  Ruggero IK2PZC (5C2P), Simon  IZ7ATN  (5C2SG),  Mounaim  CN8QY  and Belkaid CN8QX will be active from Herne Island  (AF-068) on 22-29 September. They plan to operate on all modes and bands, 6m included.

FO_mar - FO5QB and a large group of operators from Russia and  Ukraine will be active from Tahiti (French Polynesia) and Nuku  Hiva  Marquesas Islands) as follows:

         They  plan to operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 180-10 metres  with four stations at the same time on different bands/modes.

FP - Eric, KV1J, will once again be operating from the Island of Miquelon ((NA-032,DIFO FP-002 WLOTA 1417, Grid GN17) as FP/KV1J between October 24th and November 1st. Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31 (but

primarily SSB and RTTY). 

FR - Willi, DJ7RJ, will once again be active as FR/DJ7RJ from Reunion Island (AF-016) between October 4-26th. Activity will be focused on the lower bands using a Elecraft K2 with a 500 watt amp into an inverted L antenna.

H40 - Jacek, SP5DRH, will once again try to activate Pigeon Island (OC-065), Reef Islands, in the Temotu Province between October 8-21st. Operation last year had to be cancelled due to "dramatic plane delay" that destroyed Jacek/SP5DRH and Jerzy/SP3BQ plans. Jacek's main target will be Europe on 160m, some 80m is planned to.

J2 - Jean-Francois, F4FUC will be active as J28UC from Djibouti starting in July for a couple of years. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using 100 watts, a vertical antenna and a dipole.

J45 -  Martin, ON4PO, will once again be active as J45PO between October 23rd and November 3rd. Activity will be mostly SSB and some PSK31

J6 -  Bill, K9HZ, will once again be active as J68HZ from Labrelotte Bay, Castries, St. Lucia (NA-108, WLOTA L-1336) between November 19th and December 3rd. Activity is usually on 80/40/20 meters using CW and SSB.

JD1_mt - Take, JG8NQJ/JD1 is active from Minami Torishima (OC-073) until mid-October. During this period he will be QRV on 17 and 30 metres; he will return to the island in December and be active on all bands.

K – (NA-137). Wayne, K9YNF, will be active as K9YNF/1 from Peaks Island in the Maine State West IOTA Group between September 25-30th. This will be Wayne's 4th IOTA DXpedition. Activity will be on 14260 and 18128 kHz SSB (+/- QRM) and 14070.15 kHz PSK31. He plans to use a Elecraft K3/100 and a TransWorld vertical dipole.

KH8 - Scott, W4PA and possibily others will be active as K8A from American Samoa on 17-28 November.

OX - Operators Jiri/OK1IEC, Jan/OK1JK, Jiri/OK1JST and Vaclav/ OK1VVT plan to be active as OX4OK and possibly OX/homecall from the OX2A club station at the Kangelussuaq Airport between September 16-26th. Activity will be on all bands, 80-10 meters, depending on propagation, and 2m EME (JT65b).

PJ5 - Gerd, DL7VOG, announced that he will be active as PJ5/DL7VOG from Sint Eustatius Island (NA-145) starting the middle of November through the beginning of December.

PJ7 - The PJ7X team is pleased to announce that they will be operating from Sint Maarten (NA-105), one of the newest entities on the DXCC list, for 12 days in October and November 2011.

PJ7 - Jan/DJ8NK, Paul/F6EXV, Kan/JA1BK and Rich/K2WR will be active from Sint Maarten between 26 October and 9 November

PJ7 -  Masa, K1GI, will be active as PJ7I from Sint Maarten (NA-105) between November 24-28th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using a FT-450 w/500w amplifier into a Hexagonal beam (20-10m) and a Quarter Lambda vertical (80/40m) antenna.

T8 - Tatsuo, JA8CMC, will be active as T88TO from Palau (OC-009) between September 16-19th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB.

T8 - Atsu, JA8FAA, will be active as T88GO from Palau (OC-009) between September 16-19th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB.

T8 - Ulf, DL5AXX, will be active as T88UE from the Palau Rental Shack between September 18-27th. He will also be active as T8XX for CQWW RTTY Contest (September 24-25th).

TU -  An Italian team consisting of Alfeo/I1HJT, Silvano/ I2YSB, Carlo/IK1AOD, Vinicio/IK2CIO, Angelo/IK2CKR, Marcello/IK2DIA and Stefano/IK2HKT will be active as TU2T from the Ivory Coast sometime between October and November (dates to be confirmed). Activity will be on 160-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY.

V3 - Norman, 5B4AIF, will be active as V31NB from Placencia (V31MD's rental QTH) between December 16-27th. He hopes to operate on as many bands as possible, but SSB only.

V6 -  Operators Sho/JA7HMZ (V63DX) and Kei/JA7GYP (V63T) will be active from Pohnpei Island (OC-010) between October 3-8th. Activity will be on 40-6 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY.

VE - George, K3GV will be QRV as K3GV/VY2 from Prince Edward Island (NA-029) on 1-30 September. He will be mainly active on 20 and 15 metres.

VK - OC-233. Laurie, VK7ZE, along with a few friends on holiday, plan to activate King Island, as VK7ZX between November 3-7th, weather permitting.

VK9L - Merv, N6NO, will be celebrating his 75th birthday and 60th year in ham radio by activating Lord Howe Island (OC-004) as VK9OL between September 10-18th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters with a focus on CW and openings to Europe.

VP9 -  Les, N1SV, will once again be active as VP9/N1SV from Bermuda (NA-005) between October 28-31st.

VP2V - Art, N3DXX, will be active as VP2V/N3DXX from Virgin Gorda (Tortola) between November 23-30th.

YJ -Chris, VK3QB, will once again lead a team of operators to Port Vila on Efate Island 9OC-035), Vanuatu, and be active as YJ0VK between September 30th and October 12th.

ZK2 - Chris/GM3WOJ/GM2V will once again be active as ZK2V from Niue (OC-040) starting about October 15th, and onward. Keith/GM4YXI/GM5X, will join him for 2 weeks during the DXpedition and will be active in the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 29-30th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry.

ZL - Paul, ZL4PW will be active as ZL4RUGBY between 19 August  and  31 October to celebrate the playing in New Zealand of the  2011 Rugby World Cup.
